The 2006 Subaru Forester STI SG9 represents the late-model facelift (Applied Model D) of the iconic, second-generation performance crossover wagon. Engineered exclusively for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM), the SG9 Forester STI seamlessly blends the practical cargo utility of a family estate with the high-performance rally DNA of the Impreza WRX STI, making it one of the most revered classic sleepers of the mid-2000s.

Unlike standard turbocharged Foresters of this era that used a 2.0-litre block, the STI flagship features a heavy-duty powertrain configuration shared with the global market WRX STI.
